Trokeo — Platform disclaimer

1. What Trokeo is

Trokeo is a neutral connection platform for the Costa del Sol. We help neighbours discover each other, message in any of ten local languages, and arrange services or item exchanges directly. Trokeo is an information-society service under Spanish LSSI-CE (Law 34/2002) — we host listings and route messages; we are not a party to any agreement between users.

2. We do not vouch for users

Profiles marked Verified have had a government-issued ID checked by our identity provider; that does not certify skill, quality, reliability or behaviour. Reviews and ratings are user-supplied and may be incomplete or biased. You are responsible for choosing whom you deal with, agreeing the terms, and protecting yourself.

3. Free trial — no money between users

During the 3-month launch trial, Trokeo is free for all users. We do not charge commissions, do not hold funds in escrow, and do not pass money between users. Any payment between two users is arranged and settled directly between them, outside of Trokeo.

4. Tax and licence are your responsibility

If you earn income through a Trokeo arrangement, you are responsible for declaring it under Spanish IRPF (and, where applicable, IVA) and for registering with the Social Security as autónomo if your activity is habitual or exceeds the legal thresholds. Some services require a professional licence — electrical, plumbing, healthcare and others. Offering or accepting such services without the relevant licence is your responsibility.

5. Auto-translation may have errors

Chat messages are automatically translated between users via DeepL. Translation is high-quality but not perfect. Tap any message to see the original. Where stakes are high (price, dates, location), confirm explicitly in your own words.

6. AI notice

When you interact with the Trokeo support chatbot or any other AI-assisted feature, you are talking to a machine (per the EU AI Act, Article 50). A human is always reachable via the contact form on the Help page.

7. Data and privacy

We process your personal data under RGPD (EU 2016/679) and Spanish LOPDGDD (Ley Orgánica 3/2018). Our sub-processors (Supabase, Stripe Identity, DeepL, Vercel, Resend) are named in the Privacy Policy with links to their DPAs. You can access, correct, port and delete your data from Settings. Complaints can be lodged with the AEPD.

8. Disputes and reporting

Users should try to resolve disagreements directly. Trokeo provides a Report button on every listing, message and profile; reports go to a real person within one business day. Trokeo can suspend accounts that breach the Community Rules but is not the arbiter of private disputes. For consumer-protection issues, Spanish jurisdiction applies (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007). Courts of San Roque / Algeciras (Cádiz province).
